David R. "Doc" Spires

CORDELE Funeral services for David R. "Doc"Spires, 70, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rainey Family 
Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Bay Spring Cemetery.

Mr. Spires died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007 in Crisp Regional Hospital.

A native of Crisp County, he was born Sunday, July 25, 1937 to the late King David and Maudie Pate Spires. He was a 
retired farmer and was a member of Hawpond Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children and their spouses, Connie and Tim Perry of Cordele, Steve and Kathie Spires of Arabi, 
Gayle Gibbs of Morganton, N.C. and Roger and Linda Spires of Ashburn; three brothers, John Spires, Jack Spires and 
Charles "Pee Wee" Spires, all of Arabi; a sister, Gerolene Winters of Douglas; 10 grandchildren, Nicole Gibbs, Stephanie Cape, 
Justin Spires, Ryan Barton, Nick Spires, Michael Spires, Sheree Wilcox, Tony Arnett, Andrew Arnett and Cindy Arnett; four 
great-grandchildren Catlynn Arnett, Danielle Arnett, Justin Duckworth and Abby Spires; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
